Beta 4T, Quietest Muffler?

Shove some stainless steel pot washers into the muffler inlet side. Under $5. works great.

You know, I've been wondering how to quiet the engine down since 2017.

I I know that the FMF mega bomb header will also reduce the noise, the only thing is I'd be at over $400 for the pipe and the carbon fiber pipe protector.

I'm actually thinking of going out right now and buying some new stainless steel pot scrubbers and shoving one or two into the inlet side of the muffler as you mentioned and one, seeing how it sounds, and two seeing if the power is reduced.

I've also known that there is nothing quieter than the stock exhaust, and that even when a muffler has been taken apart and the packing replaced, it does nothing for the sound.

Love my 2021 350RE and most of the time enjoy the throaty sound; however, would like a quieter option at times as VT has a lot of sensitive areas.  Wonder how many folks would buy a quieter silencer if one existed.  The ole DB Snorkel was pretty cool option for 2-smokes 10-20 years ago.

During 2021 Ammo rode with someone else on almost identical 2021 350RE.  Notice in attached pic how his silencer (back bike to left) is larger opening where my bike has smaller outlet that's angled.  Both bikes seem to be roughly same DB level, just odd there were 2 different silencers, pretty sure his was stock OEM as well; regardless, no noticeable difference between the 2.  I may give the SS pot washers a try,  if I had the large outlet like the other bike in the pic I'd try a Fisch insert.

Some years ago installed FMF Q4 on a DRZ400, it made noticeable more power and was quite loud for quietest after-market option.  Years later removed it and was surprised how much I enjoyed the much quieter OEM silencer.  That was when I was in my 40's, now 58 I'm more sensitive to noise so would be cool if there was an option to take a little bark out at times.

I have 390 with a small angled exit tube sticking out.   I wonder if 3-5” long silicon hose tube over the exit tube OD would a.) survive the heat and b.) aim the sound toward the ground to reduce sound?  Easy to try, I will report back when I do.

Q STEALTH is the quietest can I've ever run on my big thumpers...  Not sure if they make one for this year 390.  I purchased the Powercore 4 for my 2021 390RR, thinking it was the stealth, but it wasn't.  The stock can is MUCH quieter.

This is what I bought from Rocky Mtn:

FMF Power Core 4 Hex S/A Silencer - 2021 BETA 390 RR Race Edition

PN 1422190038

$359.99

This one might be the stealth can (on FMF site):

Q4 HEX S/A 045667

Regular price $449.99
