Can we assume that KTM will treat GG with the same kindness they did Husaberg? Put of a few model years of different plastics and then retire the brand.

100%

But this time they do it differently. They sell the "old 2018/2019" GasGas platform, then use their actual KTM frame and engine, put the cheapest components they can get on it, plus the TPI stuff (they will probably not use on KTMs anymore in 2021 or 2022) on and sell it for 1500 less. Then when customers realize the bikes are crap and don't buy them anymore KTM will say we dont sell enuff and therefore will not produce anymore Gassers.

Rieju was producing big enduros between 2009 to 2012 using Yamaha 250 and 450 engines.

Think all the Rieju bikes use Yamaha (minarelli) . So it seem a little odd for them to do gasgas engines since they are so close whit yamha.Side note that 450 looks a little different than the 450 i was shown wayback.

Well this sucks, I just bought my 2019 XC300 last october and I love this bike! Best stock trail bike I've ever had. Now I hope I don't have to worry about getting parts in the future.

No worries ... I run an old 2010 Wr Husky 300 and have no issues finding parts .... as a matter of fact I’m thinking of upgrading to the exact bike you have.... Mountain Motorcycle has some on the floor out my way .... very nice looking rides.

Ktm is not going with tpi in 2021/22 ... so it's true that they want to go with something new for fuel injection ? Maybe something even more complicated and expensive ?

I know that they tried to put a patent on tpi tecnology but Rotax-Bombardier owns that patent , which is some kind of ' open license ' , that's why also TM can use it

Yes I suppose they will transform GG in a mid-low quality machines , and it's pretty ovius , nobody would buy a tpi GG at the same price of a ktm or husqy , if they want to make big sells the price difference must be around 2000 euros less , but with 8800 euros you can buy a 300 RE 2020 .... and I don't think you can sell it for 7000 euros and earn something ( unless you go with low quality parts ) ... and this make me think if it could be the real strategy of ktm : trying to stop somehow chinese competitors bikes and take a slice of the low budget market ( hey , you can sell bikes on the upper price range forever )

There are rumors that KTM is desperately working on a new fuel injection for the two strokes. But as it is with rumors, nobody really knows how much is true. Like with Husaberg they will kill the GG enduro line in less than a year or two and only keep the trials and e-bikes, because that is what they need.

Except they can’t sell high-priced bikes forever - here in Australia some Husqvarna 2019 left-overs are still being discounted by up to $2500AUD.

Do people put kyb on ktm’s?  I think mostly if guys aren’t happy they send their ktm  wp’s to some shop to setup and upgrade. Really this was expected to have red ktm’s called Gasgas. Now it’s if one wants to enjoy true spanish gasgas newest available bikes then just gotta scoop those left over and enjoy those.. and just buy some spare parts. It’s kind of gross and wrong to see a ktm with gasgas on the tank.  It’s just how things go I guess. I mean I liked Bultaco but ...

They just had not enough time to produce something more promotionally effective. There are rumors that KTM will just change the color of the plastics and use some less expensive components. So what you expect will be very close to the truth.

There are also rumors that a different two stroke fuel injection will come 2021/22. But that's just rumors... we'll see.

Well Beta, TM and Sherco are gaining ground as they should and variety is good to push the envelope on making better bikes. I hate to see the little guys get gobbled up but in fairness GASGAS did this to themselves with poor management.

I remember wanting a Bultaco in 1978 but they were $1,500 compared to $1,100 for a Yamaha.  For a 15 year old kid funding his motorcycle passion with a paper route and mowing lawns at $8 a pop that was a deal breaker.    I think the weak Japanese Yen vs. stronger Spanish currency had a lot to do with Bultaco going out.
