  1. actually you can hear reed say it for himself that thats why he doesnt wear the brace anymore. he didnt get into details but said it was about mcfarlane. its on the pulpmx show archives.
  2. honestly, i wouldnt be surprised if that was made up or tweaked or more to it than meets the eye. something about it just doesnt sound right. especially the fact that eye witnesses said he was bleeding from the neck. just my opinion.
  3. arent there a couple other braces over seas that riders are wearing that we dont see in the US? nice to see some more options.
  4. central ohio is pretty good... until winter that is. 3 national tracks within 5 hours. really good tracks spread out through the state, and pa is known for really good tracks besides the nationals. 12 hour drive south in the winter to monster mountain. really cant complain at all about it. tracks are rarely dusty. the competition for track prep is there.
  5. wouldnt that be like many times more than a chinese woman? 77psi right? so if we assume a chinese womans foot is approximately 12 square inches that would be 924 pounds per each foot. ??? i know i wouldnt want that fat chick walking on me weighing that much. if my assumption is right. i guess either way i dont want a chinese chick.
  6. yea, almost double what leatt claimed. lol:lol:
  7. someone brought up the astar brace and why we arent talking about it in this aspect. well, to my knowledge and i think i can speak for HNR and framebreaker, it hasnt been reported yet that someone has broke their T5 area with an Astar brace on. there are many cases of T4 T5 and T6 breaks of riders wearing a leatt brace.
  8. Cam, im beginning to think you have alot of money invested in this company. my injury aside. (ill reread through my records when i can and be sure what i said is accurate). but you keep saying "77lbs big deal". your missing the part that its been stated awhile ago that the thoracic strut breaks off at 45 lbs. then just yesterday a leatt engineer posts that its 300N which is approx. 67lbs. now its been proven that it breaks at atleast 77lbs. im scratching my head wondering how this happened. does carbon fiber get stronger the longer it sits?
  9. does anyone even know the force required to break a human thoracic spine? i cant even find that kind of info, and google is one smart mofo.
  10. wow. nice video. thanks. sounds like the studder of how much it takes has been solved. (ive been told atleast 2 if not 3 different rates by leatt people)
  11. "The mid thoracic spine (T5-T8) is the most commonly injured area of the back (actually of the whole spinal unit)." wow, so lets make this the point in which your body will now bend. makes lots of sense. further more, lets add a wing at the rear top of the brace so that when your head hyper-extends and your helmet prys against it, it amplifies the force onto this vulnerable part of your back.
  12. Dr. Leatt / Hahn / Wey on DMXS Radio Tonight! Dr. Chris Leatt began working on the concept of the Leatt neck brace back in 2001 and introduced it to the world in 2006. The revolutionary safety device has continued to evolve and is being used at every level throughout motocross and other forms of racing. The brace, however, is not immune to some criticism and Dr. Leatt will be on tonight for an objective discussion and taking questions from the racing community on those concerns. We will also discuss the advancements in research and technology at the Leatt Lab and what we can expect in the future from his company. GEICO Powersports Honda’s Wil Hahn is ready to put 2011 in his rear view mirror. The injury-plagued season continues for the likeable Texan with a concussion in the first moto at Unadilla. We’ll get the latest on his recovery and if he’ll be able to race any of the remaining rounds this season. The kid needs a break and we’re hoping he can finish out the summer on a high note. Valli Motosports Yamaha’s Nick Wey is always a favorite guest on the show and the “Nyk” faithful make sure to let us know when they need their fix. Always a pleasure catching up Michigan Mafia’s finest. Old-school DMXS Radio fans are in for a treat tonight as we welcome Joey Casey back in the studio. Joey was a founding member of DMXS and Practice Track magazine way back in the day and has Georgia red clay roost running through his veins. We’ll take a trip down memory lane with our good friend tonight. We want to welcome on GoPro cameras as a new show sponsor.
