What are some cheap but quality goggles?

Recommended Posts

Im pushing the good stuff on you guys.

I had no problems with 100% hyper lense scratching or oakley prism lenses in both snow and dirt goggles.

Try the good stuff you all will be amazed youve been ridding blind.

Oakley even has clear prism lenses that boost contrast.

Is this an old guy thing? I know vision gets worse with age. I can see fine with cheap goggles.

For me, definitely. Deteriorating eyesight was a large part of the reason for getting high end goggles. I spent a large part of my riding life using the darkest lenses I could. I wouldn't be able to see the handlebars if I used some of them now.

I agree with this. I use the %100 mirrored lenses because my eyes are pretty sensitive to light. I can ride in the sun and transition to tree covered trails and still see really well and the lenses allow you to see the shadows and such so you still have your depth perception for ruts and berms and such.

The good optics realy are worth it to me.

Scott, smith, oakley etc all have good stuff to help everyone see better.

Sadly I think Smith quit making goggles for the MX market. They had pioneered many firsts, including the turbo goggle.
Im guessing they became woke or something, judging by their website and don’t like internal combustion engine activities.

Scott prospect amplifier goggles look good.

Im sure theyd impress all whi try them. The light sensitive goggles also look i teresting but might be gimmic.

Only thing that scares me is i cant tell if scott goggles are optically correct or not

Light sensitive work great. Scotts are not a gimmick. I have sensitive eyes. I always had multiple goggles. Clear, tinted, etc. Now I use 1 pair. Great vision regardless of lighting. Buy some tear offs and the lens lasts forever. Foam will go bad before the lens. I have even cleaned the tear offs in a pinch when I ran out. Pic is the lens after being in my gear bag. Set it in the sun and the change of the tint is obvious.

Unfortunately their sunglass line isn’t all that banger anymore either. However they make great ski/snowboard helmets. The goggle market got pretty saturated for a bit with flash in the pan brands like Spy. Now the market is flooded with 100% gear. Why bother when you can be dynamic and run with other markets? Moving on with the times. Remember when Jt got “woke” and became the industry leader of paintball goggles? You guys and your woke sh## 😂

I love snow goggles on the dirt.  Seems not many options for good optics in moto stuff.  So expanding to snow stuff has opened up alot of options for me.

The oakley flight deck on the dirt is freaking badass. The moto goggles you gota get re used to some vision being blocked after spending time behind flight decks

Never thought of that. But the lines between sports is getting more and more blurred. I wear mostly moto stuff when mtn biking, knee/elbow/goggles. Definitely not wearing my Spy Doom gogs motoing. Not sure if they’d fit inside my helmet 😂

Indeed, many mid-priced glasses provide excellent clarity and functionality comparable to more expensive options. The markup on well-known brands often reflects branding and marketing costs rather than significant differences in materials or construction.
