Has anyone used both the IRC M5B evo front and Michelin Starcross 5 soft? Preferably in 80/100-21.

I am presently using the M5B front in an 80/100. Previous fronts were the MX-33F and M59. I immediat;y noticed a very precise steering in tight technical as it is a tad narrower.  It works very well on muddy or soft terrain. The downside to the lower volume of the front is a loss of bump absorbtion compard to the slightly larger MX33.  I sort of compensated for this by lowering the pressure to 10 with Tubliss. I think it is a good tire but had read where some would roll the knobs at speed. Not an issue for tight single track, were not railing berms in 2/3rd gear in the woods.

I've used the M5B 80/100; I did not like it.  If it was muddy and the knobs could penetrate it worked pretty well. If it was dry if felt nervous at slow speeds, and downright dangerous at higher speeds (top of second, into third/fourth).  I couldn't trust it to hold a line, especially in turns.  I believe the carcass is too soft and the knobs bend deflect on hard terrain.  I took it off with less than 10 hours on it.
