Some people say his dad was a university professor.  Others say his dad ran a construction company

 I've always liked his style. Seems like a good kid. Hope him the best of luck.

I don't think Bob is a professor but then I don't know what he does for a living.I met him only once at a Christmas party.  I can tell you that he was one of the fastest pro motocross riders out of Arizona back in the 1970's. I listened to his conversation with Chris Blose's father (also named Bob) that night. They raced against each other in the old days. The Wharton boys' first race was at Canyon Offroad Park in Peoria, Az. They didn't have numbers for their new KTM 50's so I provided them with sets. .        Damn I'm old....

Wharton has always been fast but he was pretty burned out on racing when he dropped out of the scene. I didn't like the dirty riding tactics he developed right before he quit but I think he was getting desperate in winning that elusive 250 title he wanted. He seems like a level headed guy so we'll see how much he wants to hang it out there with the younger boys in the sport to make a go at it again,

Blake invested in real estate with his brother, and they are doing pretty well at it from what I gather.  Sounds like he was smart with the money he made from the factory teams he was on.  I thought his dad was in commercial real estate as well?

 

His best days are long gone, top 15, at least that was all he could do last time he raced, think he only made a few rounds that year?  Can't remember if it was 17, or 18?
