How about a five gallon plastic bucket. I’ve used them for a long time with no issues, and a lot cheaper too. Plus you can haul dirt, rocks, or whatever in them. It’s a multi use tool!

You can crap and bath in that bucket too...  And you can eat off cardboard...  and BBQ your weenies over a fire pit made from a few extra bricks you got layin in the yard...  it's all personal preference.  :cheers:

Hi guys, 

Very interesting discussion thread! I'm glad everybody is allowed to have their opinion and to defend it. So let me bring out some differences Rabaconda has with competing products:

  • First of all, we do not to argue with competitors’ cheap prices, they know better what their products are worth. 
  • Rabaconda is a premium product with very high quality. 
  • Moose copy is made of Rabaconda’s 1st generation tire changer. We are currently selling 4th generation model which has long list of improvements since the 1st generation.
  • Our current tire changer model is suitable from 16(!) to 21 inch wheels.
  • 4th generation Rabaconda has rubber feet which will give perfect balance on uneven surfaces and really makes it stick to the ground.
  • Rabaconda tire changer has a convenient tire lever tray and tube inserts are riveted to the base frame so you don’t need to chase them and put back after each tire change. The problem mentioned above about levers falling through the lever tray is fixed at least 6 months ago. 
  • Our 4th gen model has much stronger wheel support fixing to avoid any looseness in the construction the first models had.
  • With smaller axle (sold separately) it can be used also for 85cc as well as for older bikes as well.
  • Rabaconda Gen 4 has sharp teeth on bead breaker, older models had rounded teeth and they didn’t have the best grip on muddy or wet tires when pushing the tire off the rim.
  • Rabaconda is manufactured in Europe and has considerably superior quality compared to Asian made copies. We have very strict quality control.

But most importantly, in Rabaconda, we are hard core tire change addicts, breathing, eating and living it. We are regularly present at world dirt bike events, Enduro GP, ISDE, MXGP, etc to assist riders in tire change and in return to learn from them. It’s a rider developed product. We are closely working with all major factory teams (KTM, Husqvarna, Yamaha, Beta, Sherco, GasGas, etc), but also with national racing teams like for example US Trophy Team and Junior Team at ISDE for already 6 years. 
Rabaconda is the only one out of the choices above used in real action - at races, where speed, reliability and ultimate ease of use matters. All world champions, ISDE Trophy Teams, US top riders, etc use Rabaconda (check out photos at our website). Therefore it’s not a static copy but a product constantly evolving.

Just some suggestions for Gen 5...Use a different grip for the lever.  With greasy or dirty hands, my grip tape stuff has seen better days.  Maybe a system that actually uses a dirt bike handlebar type of grip that can be glued and safety wired to secure it.  Then cut off and replaced with customers favorite flavor after gummed up with goop.  Also, how did you guys fix the tire lever situation?  I picked up one of the first Gen 4's and the lever sleeve is almost more annoying than useful in its current condition.  A final suggestion would be the bag.  Maybe Velcro pockets for irons, and the axle pieces ( I have both sizes so would be nice to have a spot for each of them, and remember these get greasy). And maybe a few extra pockets for odds and ends. I keep a small box with patches, valve cores, valve core removers and spare tube valve caps.  Directions on assembly are everywhere on these things, but disassembly and putting away in the bag are no where, and it takes a few tries to make it work.  I have a system now that works, but would be nice to have a system in place for first timers.

I have an uber cheap changing stand like this one, It does what i need it to do and for a fraction of the cost, paid like $50 shipped?.  I can change a tire in a few minutes without any fuss, then i throw it back in the corner of the basement when i am done.   There is another version that comes with a bead breaker but i only find a bead breaker necessary for doing tubeless street bike tires, no need when changing dirtbike tires.  JMO

Huge thanks! Rider Developed Designs! Thanks to the commitment from riders like you, we have been able to develop the tire changer over these years. So yes, I'll note your recommendations to our "5th gen idea file". 

The tire lever tray bottom was not end-to-end covered, but now the bottom is completely sealed. So nothings falls out. 

Tips for bag noted! We gotta see with the manufacturer of bags what it would add to cost. If it's reasonable, we can pump up the current model. 

Agree on assembly for first timers! It can be somewhat confusing in the beginning. Exactly due to that, we created an instructional video.

Glad you saw this thread and appreciate your input.  With the info available it is difficult to evaluate the different brands.  Sort of like what KTM owners sometimes think, my bike cost more so it must be better.  But, you have explained where you are coming from on price...thanks.  After all the give and take (and the experience this past weekend with hand mounting a very stiff Washougal II rear) and further research, when I am ready to buy it will in all likelihood be the real deal.

Well chit, I guess I ordered mine a few hours too late to get the gen 4 version you  mentioned . My gen 4 was ordered 6 mos. ago TO THE DATE  and the levers fall out out of mine.... So am I entitled to a refund since I was shipped the wrong item? Or is RMATV falsely representing your product?

@Rabaconda. This guy has a Long history of product development and review on TT as well as other more mainstream media, he’s definitely not MXA or some paid advertiser place, maybe time for a test/eval!
