Goldentyre GT333 reviews

Recommended Posts

Haven't used it yet but have been thinking about it. It's gotta be better than the 369X (it sucks!) that GT told me was the replacement for the 523KX. The 523KX was flat out the best rear tire I have ever used. I was willing to live with the short life span and price for the traction it provided. Please let us know if you try it out!

I just ordered the same combo, except a 110/100-18 on the rear.  I haven't installed them yet.  I went with the GT333 for a few reasons:

  • DOT rated
  • Sidewall is so stiff that apparently you can run 0 psi with Tubliss, which means insane traction if I need it, but also not having to really worry about a rear flat at all... just keep riding
  • Good reviews on tire life

My 216aa came today, but the GT333 is on backorder and I won't have it until next week.

Search for posts by @Jeff aka Bolt he has gotten a lot of guys hooked on these tires.

Thanks for the mention...  GT333 out sells all other rear Goldentyres...  it is supposed to be an Intermediate Terrain Tire but it does very well in soft terrain and in hard terrain.  Much better than we thought it would.  From Baja to the North West it continues to be the Unicorn of rear tires.  Totally performance oriented but also DOT approved.  This is not a compromise tire...  it is an excellent dirt bike tire that is also street legal.

It is a compliant rear tire.  Does not need super low air pressure to do it's job.  Does not have a super stiff side wall like a Desert IT or AT81RC.  It has a unique weave in the carcass that lets it flex but still be strong without being overly stiff.

I've tested every damn tire you know probably... and can give you a very good idea how GT333 relates to any other tire out there.  GT333 is not the only great tire out there.  It is my personal fav for the riding I do.

Happy to help you dial in what to try whether it be a GT333 or something else that better suits your riding style and environment.

PM me for more details if you like.

I am currently running this tire 120/18 on a 2017 YZ250x.  I bought it in May of 2018 and rode almost 5 days a week at the local mx track.  This tire kicks ass.  I practice 3-4 times a week, 2 hour practices, and race two motos on a Sunday and tire has held up like I couldn't believe.  I still have it mounted up right now to start practicing again once the track is ready.  The tire has only wore half way down.  It is such an amazing tire.  I have it paired with the m59 front.  Wow. We had a full out rain mud race and let me tell you, I was so confident with these tires it was like the track was dry for me.  While everybody else is slowing down for the big jumps, I was speeding up to hit it even harder because of the confidence level.  I think I will be buying two more rears this spring.  As far as the fronts I don't know what pairs up with the GT333, but I will find something.

Last question I need to figure out is 120 or 110-18 for mx?  I love the 120 but might try the 110.

I feel like the only bike a 120 tire should go on is a 450 or bigger but that's my personal opinion. Tire size may not seem like much but it effects the feel of the bike quite a bit IMO.

Goldentyre GT216AA 80/100-21...

Just shoot me a PM and I can layout the whole line up for you so this thread doesn't start to sound like another Goldentyre commercial.

Regards...  Jeff
