2004 drz400e

Seems a little pricey, an E can be legal depending on your location, mine is!  My area would probably put that bike (without seeing it) in the 2800.00 range or less with the milage.  The E didn't come with a computer/odometer, to my knowledge, so unless the owner is original and replaced the resettable 999max odometer, on day one, or logged every reset and milage there is an element of guessing going on, I would imagine.

I paid $1,600 for my rat-bike 2003 E. Mine is street legal. Factory Computer/Odometer says 6,000 miles - if it's correct it was a hard 6,000 miles. I tore down the bike and discovered it only looked terrible. Mechanically it was in great shape and everything was properly greased and torqued. If the bike was clean, it was probably worth $2,500. If the frame and engine case weren't battle scared, maybe $3,000.

hello I've been looking at a 2004 drz400e on craigslist lately. it has 13,xxx miles on it and the guy wants $3300.  The bike is in very good condition. Just want to hear what you guys got to say about it.

Im pretty sure looking at your IP your in the US and not in a pricey state (say CA)
To each his own, but unless the bike was a living room kept, almost un ridden example, $3300 would be too much for me.
If it was used, but fully built, with a lot of adventure gear, outfitted with the same after market parts you might want to add, and the build quality is verifiable known to be quality.,. then MAYBE
I know of a SM turned adventure bike / SM that is that way...When he puts it up for sale someone will be getting low hour 2014 bike with about $8k in parts & work at a great deal...Built buy someone I trust ?

The bike is 14 years old... unless you have personally inspected it then you really don't know what condition it is in. Pictures are almost worthless. With any used dirt bike 9 times out of 10 you will find the chassis bearings and suspension components long over due for servicing. This can add to an additional cost of a few hundred dollars if you are capable of performing the work yourself to upwards of $1000 or more if a shop does it. These 2 things adversely effect the handling and safety of the motorcycle if not kept in good working order. If you are not mechanical inclined and familiar with dirt bikes I recommend take someone with you to look at the bike prior to purchasing it.
