That's a bummer to hear. I would imagine it's supposed to work for every bike in a consistent way.

For our racing series, I prefer a fast revving motor and the least amount of inertia. Most of my racing has been on the 250xcf. Even the 350xcf is bit more inertia. That's why I'm also thinking about the Sherco 300SEF. In between the 250 and 350.

OK, I misread your original comment when you mentioned racing a 350, I thought you were talking about the Beta. Yes, I've heard others say the Beta 350 doesn't have the snap of the KTM. The 3 Seas guys had some good suggestions though for getting more snappy throttle response.

Nice. You like the Beta better? What are some of the features you like? How's the durability and maintenance? Any issues? How often are you doing a stepper motor reset? Talking to the guys at 3 Seas today, they really love their 350 for GNCC

Awesome to here. Have you ridden any of the current KTM 350'? Just curious about comparison. I am 36 and race Senior A at our local series. All of our riding is in woods in B.C, Alberta, Washington, Idaho, etc. singletrack. Been on KTM for 20 years and my current bike is a 350xcf, but I raced the 250xcf for many years prior. What class are you racing? Have you done anything to tune yours? Thank you

Ah yes, BDS, he reminds me of the typical used car salesman. SoCal. Gotcha. I'm im B.C, but do a lot of travel for my career. I mostly ride B.C, Alberta Washington, Idaho and Montana. Been to Utah and Colorado and due to work actually got to ride some in Europe. We ride year round, but we gotta ride the extreme wet during winter here, but that's what gives us the amazing deep jungle like singletrack, so I'll take it!

Mike's a really busy guy for sure, especially this time of year. But, he and Jeff Slavens have been with KTM for decades and I always trust those guys. We used Slavens a lot over the years as well for parts and occasionally some advice, especially on a brand new bike because he usually gets them before anyone else and goes through them with a fine tooth comb. There is that other guy that was selling KTM emissions upgrade stuff that made huge claims and used a smiley face logo. Forget his program, but he got debunked a bunch and felt like that sham wow salesman. Where do you and forma ride? Oh and good luck with health from surgery. I'm actually injured currently as well and why I'm spending too much time thinking about next riding season, haha

I currently have a 2024 350xcf set for our local woods racing in BC and Washington, Idaho, Montana areas. I've been on KTM for 20 years and started at 15 on a 200. Before this 350 I was on the 250xcf for many years. I love both bikes, but sometimes feel like if there was something right in between it would be just right. My last 250xcf was a 21' I'm looking at a new bike for next season and thinking about a new 250xcf and using the CUO to find some maps that fit for our different areas. I run a GET , but the CUO would be awesome

Ah, thanks for clarifying. Yes, I was referring to the 350 4-stroke. It's awesome that Beta has the 350 2-stroke though. Nobody in the industry has a big bore 2-stroke anymore.

Mixing gas? The 350 race is a 4-stroke?

So, I took some advice and made a call today. I decided to call the Beta dealership that's carried Beta since the beginning and found there YouTube channel with tons of solid information on Beta. 3-Seas Recreation over on the East Coast. I got a lot of clarification on the electrical and the 350's power delivery. They race GNCC and local Enduro and one of their guys is a AA rider so it's nice getting information from the guys around my age who are racing. Some information about wiring harnesses, not all bad. Asked about the valve seats and they said it was only about a dozen bikes imported in 2024' and most were 390's. They gave a some really insightful advice on getting more snap if I was looking for it without a tuner and found out they have 4 maps with traction control which was important to me. They also explained the stepper motor which was good to find out about and definitely unique and how important it is to a reset for my riding up in the mountains. The nice thing is they weren't selling me anything obviously being a country away and just much better finding out the information from a company and guys that are with the brand every day racing and working on them. Great guys over there and gave me a lot more confidence in possibly going with a new Beta 350. Thanks for the advice to make a call. It definitely was helpful!

I'm a bit confused. Not naive, but just don't see what signs were there to expect the insulting message and anger. My experience with most dirt bike groups is when you ask a question and aren't being a jerk, you get a response that's respectful. When the information comes across in a contradicting way, you ask for clarity and normally the person explains the information in a different way to give more information to fill in the holes. What am I missing? Heck, I thanked the guy for sharing the pictures of his bikes and he said I was judging him? That's just strange I think
-
Um, wow. I simply was asking why you bashed the KTM then told me that Beta was inferior quality. You say I should be grateful. This comes across as very narcissistic. Your personality seems to be all over the place. You were helpful early and now coming across like you're angry. I was saying thanks for showing the bikes. How is this judgey? This is getting strange.

OK thank you. You're not the only one to say that.
