350 EXC EFI Tuning

Recommended Posts

Anyone install the JD EFI tuning kit on there 2012 350 EXC yet?

Any setting recommendations if you have removed all the emissions and installed a 350 SX FMF mega bomb? ?

Guess I will just start with that one and see how hot or cool it runs.

Running the X01.

As mentioned above all emissions are removed and a FMF Ti Megabomb 350 SX exhaust system installed.

There are a thousand and one combinations but all stock settings are "3" nominal.

I run idle at 4 and all the rest at 5 except for the accelerator pump which I run at 6. The acceleration is impressive to say the least.

Riding buddy just got a 2012 450 XC-W. After riding the hopped up 350 EXC on the track and trails he thinking about "downsizing" (LOL) to a 350 next season. He is a hardcore 450 believer

I pounded his stock 450 for a while and it has more torque down low for sure but the mid and high end were surprisig mellow compared to the modified 350. It is a different power delivery no question.

My 2011 350SX is ignition mapped and the EXC will blow it away!

We're geared 13 - 50 for the mountains and riding between 3500' and 7000' if that is of interest to you.

When I stop grinning and laughing I will play with the settings some more.

Fuel burn is AMAZING - over 60 miles the other day and still above half a tank.

If you need more info let me know,

Cheers

Cool. Thanks for that. Glad you are enjoying the bike.

I also got this helpful email from JD which clarifies the differences in the X01 and X02 tuners:

The 2012 KTM 350EXC will use our EFI tuner #JDKTX01 in nearly all cases. The tuner only works with an open loop system, so any O2 sensor in the exhaust must be removed and disabled. The tuner will work great with the Akropovic exhaust.

Only if you are planning on making the motor bigger with a 370cc to 400cc big bore cylinder, would you want the tuner #JDKTX02. The tuner #JDKTX02 has a wider range of adjustment to add fuel, but compromises the adjustment by using bigger steps between settings.

The proper tuner #JDKTX01 is available to purchase online from our website at-

Thanks,

James

do u have to get the computer unlocked to use this tuner?

nope, just plug it in and then piggy back the original harness connector into the JD harness.

5 mins max if you already have the tank off.
