350 EXC emissions block off...

Recommended Posts

Was looking all over to no avail for the "KTM plugs" that supposedly come with the bike. Well guess what, mine does not have them. So I call product support in Canada and they tell me that none of the 350 EXC's shipped to Canada or the US have them. The parts are only supplied and available in Europe.

So any of you guys that did get the block off plugs here on this side of the Atlantic, consider yourself lucky. ?

Blais racing out of Apple Valley has a kit available for $40. ?

Also a tip for the do it "yourselfers" (arnt we all!) I see all through these threads that guys are removing the rear shock to remove the exhaust system. This is not required. I run a 2011 350 SX and a 2012 350 EXC and swap, modify, repair, change exhaust systems on a regular basis.

If you dont want to remove your shock just remove the internal wrenching screw from the lower right arm of your subframe. Move the arm out about 1/4" and your header pipe will slide right out the front with a little imagination.

Takes less than a minute. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Your costing is accurate but I doubt that would be for an aluminium fine thread metric bolt with a minimal shank to head radius. I personally would not thread a steel bolt into my cylinder head but each to their own.

They are not part of the crate in canadia...wish it was, would have saved me $40.

I went online and found the two OEM screws and the seal washers for about 10 dollars. They are the original ktm part numbers for the SAS block off and the evap system plug taken from the OEM parts catalogue. Here they are: SAS plug screw, M12x1.5 p/n, 78036024000, cu seal ring, p/n 58038022000, hh collar screw, M6x8mm, p/n 0025060086, cu seal ring, p/n 0603061001. Any ktm shop should be able to order them from this, it worked for me....

i just bought a 350 exc and everyone is saying to take off all the emissions crap so i did and then got a JD tuner the bike ran fine fixed all the problems..about 250.00 bucks. my buddy got one a month ago and sent his throttle body out to best duel sport bikes.com for what they call the magic mod. they tune the throttle body and it makes the bike run richer and add some timing. it was only 125.00 buck the funny part is u don't have to take all the emissions crap off. i hoped on his bike and the difference was night and day it ran so much better then mine. my throttle body is out right now...

i did but now i have it off and all the emissions back on if you call B.D.S.B.com u will talk to a guy named dave he dose work with KTM and says that the bike runs better with all that stuff on. and after riding my friends bike i believe. all u have to do is cut the breather line under the gas tank cause if you fill the tank up all the way the vacuum can suck gas out. then get a cork to fill a exhaust air blower line they have to blow air into the exhaust to meet emissions the result is bad popping under deceleration. go check out bestdualsportbikes.com find the mighty 350 project the will explain a lot..
