Changing front brake pads

Recommended Posts

1. remove caliper

2. there will be a pin that goes through the pads, its ussualy a recessed allen head of 4 or 5mm. remove this pin.

3. remove pads from caliper

4. press in piston all the way.

5. Place in new pads, reinstall pin through pads.

MAKE SURE the spring steel piece is in correctly above pads inside caliper. ALSO, make sure the little sheet metal end pieces stay in as well.

too easy:thumbsup:

7. Pump the brakes. lol

My buddy did rear pads on his bike the day before a hare scramble, didnt pump the brakes. First turn was interesting. ?

I did it once with a new bike fresh out of it's crate after I did a PDI lol

I used to do co-op at a local dealer for school and forgot to pump the fronts when i put the wheel on, we had a ramp that led to a slight hill out of the shop and i rode the bike down it(to lazy to puch it around to the showroom) thank god for rear brakes or I would have put a brand new R6 on to a fence ?:bonk::ride:
