Just bought stock 04 CR250R Pipe

Recommended Posts

Yea I just bought a stock pipe finally got a good deal on it.? I was thinking of sanding it down to look more like a works pipe. Is this a good idea? What should I do or use to do so. I heard the stock pipe for the 04 was one of the best pipes instead of paying a lot for an aftermarket is this true?

Because the Platinum 2 pipe is for low end and its dented. I also heard from alot of people that the stock pipes on the 02-04 cr250s are really good, believe me i wish i could get a doma pipe or a sst but i dont got that cash. If i could find a doma pipe for my bike id get the money some how even if i have flip the convenient store haha jp

Stock pipe works great ont he 04, especially with the procircuit shorty silencer. Jsut get some med sand paper and that thing will shine up in no time. Hit it with a brillo pad occasionally between rides and it will look sweet..

If im going from a Pro Circuit Platinum 2 pipe to the Stock what differences would id be looking at? Also Ill prob still have my Pro Circuit R304 Shorty Silencer still on it. Any details appreciated!

If jetted right you should notice a broader rpm range. The PC shorty should give a little more off the bottom vs. the stock silencer. Try paint striper on the pipe first so you dont put sand marks with an agressive grit. Afterwards you can use a red scotch brite pad with wd to keep it from rusting after every ride.

Yea my exhaust flange came in from Topar Racing http://store.toparracing.com/merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=TPR&Product_Code=CREF-01&Category_Code=HON It fits well and every thing but I think my pipe is tweaked or something it definitely doesn't leak as bad as before but it still does have a little leak where the last gasket is near the cylinder on the exhaust valve has a little piece of the gasket poking out. The pipe wont go on like flush it has to be a little bit crooked on the flange is this normal???

Stock pipes seem to be hard to find. I have two stock pipes for my 02. When I do see pipes for sale, the sellers want load of money for them. I've tried the aftermarket pipes and I prefer the stock over the others, for my kind of riding.

O man I'm about to cry the stock pipe isnt lining up with the PC Shorty Silencer. Stock Pipe is fine silencer is fine why is this! The silencer wont reach the pipe by like a 1/4 inch but the rubber clamp that goes over it is holding it on for now any suggestions??

Did you loosen the hangers from the frame that bolt up to the pipe & silencer ? Fit the pipe & silencer together then adjust the hangers in place & tighten the bolts. Also check to make sure the tabs on the pipe or silencer aren't tweaked. Hope this helps.
