Stick your phone in your boot.

I ride by myself all the time and you want your phone handy not on your bike. I dislocated my shoulder and rang my bell about a year ago and was in no mood to crawl back to the bike. I pulled my phone out of my boot and called the house and said "COME GET ME!"

i cut a hole into my handle bar pad. i put my phone in and the cover over the top works great.

Ha, champagne glasses are relatively cheap. I don't think I've ever seen a $450 champagne glass.

I've moved the SIM card over to a $19 prepaid cheapie phone when I'm gone someplace with a highly likelyhood of phone loss or damage.

Or carry an old shitty phone with you, even one without a plan. Any phone, even without any sort of minutes will still let you dial 9-1-1, so in a truly dire situation, you'd be able to get out.

I keep mine on the shoulder strap of my camelback. Theres a velcro pocket that fits it perfectly.

So far its survived the worst crash I've had so far (happened 300 ft from my truck anyway lol). Just gotta make sure I don't go for a dip crossing any rivers I suppose.

I always buy fairly basic phones. So no worries here about breaking something expensive.

i wear basket ball shorts under my riding pants. i put my phone inmy shorts and it never broke, well until my freind took me in a mud hole! Will hill climb, rock ride and water cross and mine mever breaks.

and maybe get phone insurance!

I use to put it in my camelbak...until I cartwheeled and landed on it...one EnV down the tubes...

fanny pack....i guess tools crushed it...EnV3 down the tubes...

in my truck glove compartment...EnV touch still safe...

I like the disposable phone idea, I'm gonna pick one up and swap my iphone sim into it when I ride, no reason to risk my iphone

If you have AT&T or T-Mobile, you could always go to the old electronics drawer (I know everyone has one) and use a scrap phone and swap sim chips between the two. I have an iphone and a couple old Nokias and that is what I usually do. Then there is always the pre-paid phone option which you can pickup at 7-11, Borders books and other various places.

I throw my phonein my pants pocket. The pocket has a zipper and velcro on it. I have fallen a few times with it and it got wet on a few falls in the water, but it still works.

Get a PLD personal locating device , it works with gps. Fast makes one that cost 298.00 it is the size of a cell phone .

$19.95 at Best buy. I stick my SIM chip in this when I'm riding and stick it in my Camelbak. If it dies I don't care that much. Haven't killed one yet though.

ATT has cheap phones too. Just stick your SIM chip in one of the prepaid phones. You Verizon guys are out of luck.

I've used one of these for several years, and it still keeps things dry and protected. I keep my phone, money, cards and license and just about everything I can fit in it for a ride. I just wrap some toilett tissue around the phone to keep it from bouncing around and I may need some dry tissue trail side as well. There are even smaller ones if you need, and there are ones with a pass-thru connector for head phones, which I find usefull on long dual sport highway rides. The 1020 is small enough to just fit into a jacket pocket, but a 1010 would probally hold everything I carry in it and be more compact.

I have a small pack on the front of my chest protector. I store my phone, camera, wallet with insurance card, ipod and some energy bars. I also have a leatherman zip tyed on my chest protector. I have used this combination for years. When in Mexico I put everythin in a zip lock bag. Having every thing on the chest protector makes it much easier (stopped having to ask everyone to grab stuff out of my camel back). I also have tested several phones and to date the motorola rzr seems to work the bestin remote areas.

I use a MSR Roost Pak mounted on my chest protector:

Much easier to reach items than a fanny pack and the chest location has less risk of damage than a fanny pack.

Sometimes I carry my phone in the fanny pack but I have a hard case for the phone and I put it in a side pouch with my wallet and car keys, not in the rear with the tools.
