Tips on how to do a stoppie?

Recommended Posts

Start slowly, travel at about 40mph and pull the clutch and front brake. Do this over and over and each time hit the brake harder. Once the rear lifts, modulate the brake to adjust height.

When you get used to it, it only requires a quick "jab" on the brake and the rear shoots up, then release immediately and play with lever.

Wear gear.

+1 Just remember, that if you just "grab" the brake, you will lock the front and go over....but if you "squeeze" the brake at first, then you can apply more and more pressure until you stop (or make yourself stoppie).

and +1 on the gear, too....you can save a wheelie, but you cannot save a failed stoppie.

one tip would be; to keep ur feet on the pegs, then you can move ur weight back and let go of the brake to bring the stoppie down.

I know its easier said than done.

sound's like his mate watching felt more pain than the actual rider :ride:
