1995 KX250 Specs on Cyl.

My buddy just got a 1995 KX250 for free. The owner said he had someone put a new top end in it and rod. He could not get it running. He gave it to my buddy and we took it apart. There is no carbon at all on piston because it never ran, the piston is real bad on the back side. Rubbed real bad on cylinder. The guy said he thinks the guy put the wrong piston in it. Anyway does anyone know what the dimension are of the stock piston and cylinder so I can measure it and find out where we are.

I need to know if it is stock bore or bored over. Thanks

Well if it is stock it will be plated and have a bore of 66.400mm-66.415mm with a piston of 66.336mm-66.351mm. You can get it replated stock or over bored or sleeved stock or over bored. Replating to stock is probably the best.

Which side is it rubbed on? If it's the exhaust side, start looking at the power valve.

Just shooting out of the blue here but is it rubbed on one side of the top and the other side of the bottom? I had a 4 wheeler once that was like that and it had a bent rod.

Rubbed on the intake side (back) evenly from both sides. It is obviously the wrong piston. I will measure it and find out what I got. The guy who owns it is really cool so I think he got screwed when the guy fixed it. It has been ported polished there is epoxy in there the whole nine yards. Thanks for the replys.

The bike looks real good for the age so it might be worth fixin.

If it has two score lines on the intake check to see if they line up with the intake bridges they may be warped or cracked.
