dropped retainer

i seem to have dropped a cam bearing retainer into the crank cas,e Dohhh! what the best way to get this sucker out, is there a backing plate behind the magneto to get at it or do i have to split the case, if there i any other way, LET ME KNOW.

Did it drop down the cam chain opening, with just the valve cover off?

Yep one of those antenna looking jobbies with the magnet on the end. Works great. Ive dont it meself b4. No big thing. Its probably just laying down in the cam chain tunnel.

ok ive got it out but it involved taking the magneto cover off, not a big deal.

Well, it's a good thing to know. Not that you had to find out the hard way by dropping it down in the engine. But at least you didn't have to slit the cases.
