This is no lie.. went out and got some alpinestar tech 3 boots, they seemed nice, really comfey, i rode hard and a lot and the wear and tear is terrible they look like they are 3 years old, and also i came up short on a double, had to go to the hospital with damaged ligiments, recently i got in another accident riding with my ankle starting to heal not doing anything stupid ended up getting in another crash and had a sprained ankle... so 2 trips to the emergency room in a little over a month... dont get me wrong i love alpinestars but i guess its true, you get what u pay for! :applause::eek:

Buy good boots. The Tech 3s are their low-end model intended for light play riding and maybe the ATV crowd. There are no advantages to buying low-end boots if you're riding a lot.

Dude...Tech 3's are not "low end boots" intended for the "ATV crowd". They provide excellent protection for us non-pro riders without unlimited budgets.

If you're a pro-rider...or you wanna pretend you are...and/or you have the available coin for Tech 10's...or an similarly priced boot...then knock yourself out.?

I like my light-weight, virtually waterproof, extremely comfortable, nicely styled Tech 3's just fine.:applause:

you cant complain about getting hurt by screwin up a jump on your own..and the fact that you bought crappy boots..i have Tech 10s and they are awsome..if you didnt have the money for them..shoulda saved for a lil longer

they are like 400$!! and if your 17 i really doubt you bought them on your own unless your parents gave you the money ... even if you did have a nice job there are a lot better ways to spend 400$ when your 17... my tech 3s are just fine

It's got nothing to do with being Pro riders or having money. It's got to do with levels of protection, thickness of materials, durability, fit and so on. I want the maximum protection a boot can offer, as do many riders, so we spend the $$ to get the best boots out there.

I'm thrilled that you're thrilled with your Tech 3s, but it doesn't change the fact they're the company's low-end boots. Get a catalog and see for yourself.

If you're 17, you should know where the dollar sign goes.

I have the tech 3's and love them... I don't ride motocross but I ride HARD and they have held up very nicely even in a bad wreck I had (no ankle injuries to speak of)!!! In my opinion they are the most well made boot for the money out there! I had Higher end Fox boots before these and I think these are a much more durable, comfy, and better built than the Fox's. Don't knock the boot because they are A-stars low end model... A-stars low end is like other brands' high end (not mentioning any names here)!!!

And for the kid who tore ligaments or whatever, that sucks man, but i hate to tell you its not the boot when you case a double...

You gotta buy the best protection you can afford. When I was 20, it was the equivalent of Tech 3s. Now it's Gaerne SG10s.

At least you were wearing moto boots; think of how bad those crashes would've been if you'd been wearing, say, hiking boots? (which some people really do ride in; the kids down the road ride in snow boots or rubber rain boots)

if you ride hard and a lot boots will wear, theyre not made from cast irion

also if you ride hard / a lot maybe you should invest in a little higher quality boot
