CR80/XR100 conversion help; tank swap

I'm trying to fit the 05 cr85 tank on my conversion. how did any of you conversion builders do it? Is there any other way than taking a heat gun to a gas tank? I dont know why but that just sounds dangerous to me. ?

Are you trying to put an 06 tank on a 1996-2002 cr frame??? If so, you just need two brackets.

ive got a 2002 cr80 ive just stripped to the frame. I'd like to put the xr tank on mine. does that clear the motor etc. Ilike the semi stock look. does that work? I'm going to have dmc do the frame.

Anyone got any picts of the brackets the made for bolt on or weld on for the tank??

How much clearence do you have between the tank and the head? Looks close. I have a 04 Cr tank I want to mount on mine.

I put an 03 tank on my conversion (now sold) and only had to make bracket's like socal suggested.The tank hit the valve cover on one side but was never an issue,and looked much better..Heres a pic.

There is good clearance between the tank and head. Here is a better picture.

Who does the CR80/85 frame mods for the conversion? What's the cost for the frame modifications, I'm looking at doing this for my 2003 XR100R Supermoto...
