Difference between an 520 'ATV' chain and non-ATV?

So either I screwed up ordering or Rocky Mountain sent me a DID x-ring 'ATV' chain by accident. What's the difference? Any 520 chain should fit and work, correct?

What type of master link came with it (rivet or clip)? And what's stamped on the side plates of the chain (520VM)? I ordered the regular, non-ATV x-ring chain and received the rivet master link and it's stamped 520VM. If yours came with a clip style link and is still stamped 520VM perhaps the only difference is the master link. Other then that my only other guess is it might be wider. It should still fit and work fine as I've read that a lot of people actually use the ATV chain and swear by it.

As long as it's a 520 it should work fine. Just check the clearance between the chain side plates/pins and case at countershaft sprocket to verify that it won't rub.

Its got the clip-type master and its stamper 250ATV. I've also got a 520 x-ring (non-ATV) chain on the bike currently, so I can do a stare and compare. Actually a measure and compare.

I'm sure it'll work. I'd rather not deal with the returns process.

Plates are a bit thicker on the ATV chain. One of the mags did a story on using the ATV chain on a bike a while back and found it wore better.
