124cc

Suggested Retail Value $3935

The Kelley Blue Book Suggested Retail Value is representative of dealers' asking prices and is the starting point for negotiation between a consumer and a dealer. This Suggested Retail Value assumes that the unit has been fully reconditioned and is in excellent condition. Mileage/condition and additional equipment may have a substantial impact on the value shown above. This value also takes into account the dealers' profit, costs for advertising, sales commissions and other costs of doing business. The final sale price will likely be less depending on the unit's actual condition, popularity, type of warranty offered and local market conditions.

You can get a brand new one OTD for $4600.

Don't forget that you will have to pay sales tax on whatever you pay him, so at $4200, you'll end up paying another $345 tax plus $25 to register it. May as well buy a new one from LA Yamaha (the OTD price includes tax and reg).

Even at 3800, you're looking at about $4150 total.

Now that it's green-sticker season, pingers are not moving and dealers are cutting to the bone to get rid of the '05 stock before the '06s start showing up.

A guy on another board is trying to sell an '04 YZ250 for $5000, claiming $2k in aftermarket goodies. He got a couple of offers for $3800 and was insulted, but on the above link, you can get a new one (with Al frame) for $5400.

The guy is a dealer, and it's his personal bike. He said there are only three rides on it. I was going to offer him $3700-$3800 but I'm pretty sure he won't go for it since he's a dealer.

I'll just wait and see what else comes along. For the 05 models, time is on my side.

Right now, it's between the 05 CR125R or 05 YZ125.

I guess I'll get which ever is the cheapest....
