crf450 oil filter

this might sound a bit thick but i have just bought my crf and have no manual yet i am changing the oil and filters and my friend sais it will have 2 filters i can only find one where is the second filter

It only has one oil filter. He may be thinking of the KTM four strokes, which have two or the YZF's which have a second one in the frame that requires periodically flushing out.

maybe he meant the air filter? which needs to be cleaned and oiled, about every ride or every other ride.

You guys should check out the K&N Oil Filter. Not only does it use a Synthetic Media which is developed for Semi-Synthetic and Synthetic Racing oils, but it also has a larger filtration area than the stock OE filter. Retail is a bit less as well.

The thing to keep in mind on oil filters is the micron rating of the filter media. How small of a dirt particle will be filtered out and at what %.

Make sure you get the right Oil Filter. The 115 is for the 2002/2003 and the 116 is for the 2004/2005 CRF 450. Also, the Hi-flow uses a standard media, not Synthetic. Hence the price difference.

sia 20 maybe your friend said two fillers the Honda has two oil cavities one for engine oil on the left side and one for the clutch on the right hope this helps! ?

There is a HF116 for the 04 and 05 but they must be the same since the OEM filters are identical for 02-05, except for the words "this end out" or something like that stamped on the ones for 04 and later. I'm using the HF115 for my 04.

JBM is right. The 115 fits all CRF450's. He also gives a good link at the top of the page. Seven filters for $20 shipped is the best price I can find, and the guy ships same or next day.
