110 Crank

I was wondering if the 2002 klx 110 has a weak crank? I was told that by someone. I am planning to put a Two Bros Stage 2 kit on. It has at it peak 9.7 hp. That is almost double the horsepower. Is putting to much strain on the crank?

i doubt it, my brother has over a years time on his 2002 110 with a 130 kit on it, a cam, and carb.

Hey Man just to let you know the 2002 KLX 110 are very weak only the 02 's. I would not reconmend putting anything that has to do with adding HP and is connected to the crank ? .Putting a pipe,air filter,etc Would be ok. If you need a better reason PM me and I will send you a picture of what happens.

What happens if I buy a new crank? Or about going a stroker? And where can I do that

If you are going to stroke the 02 crank you dont need to buy a hole new crank you would just need to get a 04 rod kit. If you want to convert your 02 to a 04 crank you also need the flywheel,and both clutches.I had a stroker done by Pax Racing and love it.

I think this is what I'll do.... Crower Power said $300 for a '05 crank and machining. Then I'll get their 134 Superstock Kit. It is around $550. It comes with their overbore kit and a 20 mm racing Mukini carb. That means lots of power. ??

Unless it is better to buy a '04 rod kit.

How does a '04 rod get you more stroke?

It doesn't. Im trying to solve the issue of a weak crank. So I must buy a new rod or a totally new crank. This will allow me to install a over bore kit. ?
