CRF250F Tuscany Racing suspension upgrade

Recommended Posts

WOW!  So much better!  I'm really liking the extra ground clearance this gives, it feels like a proper bike now not so much like a toy.  Overall it was a very easy install.  I did the front fork "good pressure" kit and rear shock.  The first fork cartridge took me about 1.5 hours to complete, the other side took about 10 minutes since i knew exactly what to do.

Now i just need to extend my kickstand.  I'll post up some pics of how the bike sits in the daylight tomorrow.  I need new tires and now i'm thinking of running one size up.  The kick stand also points up higher due to the swing arm angle now, more clearance.

So is this kit an alternative to the damper rod modifications from Bruce or an addition to that?  Also, did you do new springs in the front with the Tuscany Pneumatic Valve Kit?  How do you think this would work with the lift kit that Anker makes available on HyperLite Moto's site?  I'm probably a little too tall for this bike (6' 2") and I'm starting to look for suspension upgrades.

Yes this is on a stock bike.  Alternative to sending your parts to someone and having them work their magic.

The rear shock was $360, told them my weight and that i wanted the extended length, they can also make them stock height.  The good pressure fork kit was like $75.

Shipping (with my exhaust too) was $80 and came in 2.5 weeks.

Reused the stock springs.

I'm not sure about combining with the Anker kit.  The bike now feels exactly the same height as my old DRZ400.  I'm 5'11 and only my toes touch the ground now, before i could be flat footed.

Couple more pics, can't wait to get it out on the trail.  Just ordered tires but staying with OE sizes.

I feel like with the mods I have now is how it should come from the factory, OE+.

Mine lot lower then yours what sag are you using . My xr350 shock has more shaft travel  then stock.  I believe it was eye to eye 15 in . We had to cut shock body  as it was too high in rear.  I'm sure my tire 400 x 18 sidewall tall what rear tire you run.20221229_153022.jpg.63eb682bb30aeef281dc5c6a9ec27306.jpg

I haven't messed with the sag yet.  Stock size tires, currently Kenda Trakmaster but waiting on some Tusk EMEX T-45's to show up.

For $350USD you cannot beat this Tuscany shock.

These are the options they offer for the rear shock

I got the first one.

"We have 3 options of the shock regarding the rider and bike seat height:

1) From 230mm (original) to 300mm of rear wheel travel, frame and seat height gain in 4cm;
2) From 230mm (original) to 260mm of rear wheel travel, frame and seat height gain in 2cm;
3) Same 230mm of rear wheel travel, frame and seat height as original, still with benefits of high-standard genetics, 22 clicks of rebound adjusters and 2.5 turns of compression adjusters"

You have to remember just because you bought a shock for your bike.  Even that anything better then stock . Does not mean it works good without more revalve work . Let's hear it test that baby

Great write up thank you on front fork kit (correct me  if Im wrong ) stock fork 8in Travel  this kit gives more travel or just makes fork longer?  If more travel how much.  My 250f is 11in travel front back I dont know as My xr350 shock has more shaft travel then stock shock.  Yours is 15in eye to eye as one member reported.  The 350 shock I use same  15in eye to eye as your shock .  Problem My 250f was mile high in rear . So we shortened  shock body but kept shaft travel the same . My reports same as you this bike now works super. After 60 hours of mods HAHA

From the way I understand it, it just extends the length of the front forks, allowing you to clamp the triple clamps higher.

Also, I highly recommend watching this video. Some of you may recognize him, his channels been around for a while. He installs a Hyperlite front lift kit with a rear linkage lift kit and extended clevis. The difference between stock and a lifted bike is unreal. Watch the vid, but if you want to see the difference go to 9:25.

A few question about the clevis extender, linkage height extender, and front fork height extender. Do you think the clevis extender or linkage height extender would be better with the tallest Tuscany racing rear shock?

Cheers Boys ?
