CRF250F Aftermarket Brazilian Parts Sources

Recommended Posts

Got the oil pump driven gear - nice. I haven't swapped it yet, but here's a look:

OilPumpGears2.thumb.jpg.cc35e5b0743033d3024419860fdbfd10.jpg

Twice as heavy as Honda, but 22 g isn't a lot, is it... ?

I like the metal feel better than the plastic.

(ht is height, but I should probably have called it thickness, th)

Here's a thought. The 250F is built in Brazil. Did they choose plastic so a Brazilian aftermarket company could make a metal replacement?  ?

I think most will never have problems w plastic gear .  Since my 250f already has  mega miles. Former rental bike now me ride every week. I best order one if any of our bikes . Break down  in canyon no tow out. Leave bike double out . Return next day w many helpers  yes get one. On side note all you guys 250f.  Keep your eyes on clutch and throttle  cables . On handle bar ends Former owner  replaced both cables broke. Utah dual sport company buddy of mine . Mine 2020 he has two 2021s and one 2022. All three broke cables as well. I already bought spare clutch cable.  Now get spare throttle cable.

It can but you have to lay the bike over on its left side(I did not watch the video)

Yep that is the plan, about a 45' angle should work I would think. I've got a ceiling come along winch for support.

A while ago I posted about the oil pump gear and talked about the importance of changing it, some of you said you didn't think it was important. I now have many replacement videos of this item where it shows that the original is missing several teeth. (I have a video of a motorcycle that had to completely rebuild the engine precisely because of gear failure and lack of engine lubrication.)

Correct me if I’m wrong but My understanding is that Honda has already upgraded the oil pump drive gear and has changed the part # before it was re-released.

Corrija-me se estiver errado, mas entendo que a Honda já atualizou a engrenagem da bomba de óleo e alterou o número da peça antes de ser relançada.

Okay, I understand your questions. today I was talking to the CRF250 preparers (one of them with a 420cc engine)
One of them just bought a 2024 crf250f, she still uses the same part that is giving Brazilians a headache.
Or we are very unlucky people hehe

Here in Brazil there is a motorcycle (CB TWISTER 250) it uses the same engine as the crf250, but the gearbox is 6 speeds... this bike has a lot of problems with engine breakdowns because of this part.
Honda do Brasil does not solve the problem because it profits from customers by manufacturing new engines

Having to build a new engine and spend about $1,900 on Honda parts.

I'll leave some videos showing the defect... the audio will be in Portuguese but from the video you'll have an idea of what I'm talking about.

Edit: I tried to add the videos but it gave an error, sorry. If anyone wants I can send it via WhatsApp +5548988212557

Would it be possible to order an oversized plastic fuel tank and /or a 300cc cylinder, piston, pin and clips and gaskets from you?  (300cc kit)

Thanks for all the info in this thread, I'm getting ready to put an order through soon with Olimotos (fuel tank, disc guards, Viola exhaust), the prices are pretty good, hopefully the shipping won't be insane.  I've also found this site which has some of the same parts for sale, but obviously more expensive.

hyperlitemoto.com

I'm on the fence about new plastics, mine are getting beat up, a color change could look cool although I really like the 2022 style livery.  Btw what are your thoughts on the Viola vs Foco exhaust?  I like the carbon on the Viola but the Foco piping looks better with less welds.

You can't go wrong with the Foco F2... Super high quality and sounds nasty
