2019 Vortex year/version matter for 2020 CRF450L?

Recommended Posts

I believe it does NOT matter. Except..see below.

On 03/05/19 OEM Vortex ECU for 19' 450L they released first version 1, which was Firmware FWe008.4.0.16

The issue was that this firmware, while mapped, used old hardware (circuitry) which did not support fuel metering and start interlock logic

They then released Vortex with ECU8G circuitry which fixed the above problems

mine and many others was the latest release 05/30/19 Release 3 FW e008.4.0.18, which introduced dynamic traction control and reduced rev limits

From my understanding, and have confirmed with US retailers, that you can send an ECU in and get them flashed to the latest version.

Only version you want to avoid is the original hardware on first release, but not sure if any are circulating anymore.

*As for the question 2020 and 2019 CRF450L, others have confirmed that the stock Honda ECU part numbers are the same and believed to be the same flash. Thus Vortex ECU, regardless of the sticker year, will behave in both bike years.

I ordered a Vortex ECU from TokyoMods for my 2020 CRF450L and to my surprise it was labeled for use on 2019's CRF450L. Does the year version matter? The software/hardwarve version appears to be from this May. Just wanted peoples thoughts before I tried to install it.

Bikes are the same. No difference
