Pit Bike Upgrades

Recommended Posts

I was wondering if you guys have worked on 110s to make them more powerful or smoother? Ex-suspension, big bore kits, new parts, etc. any input helps! I’m making a super cross style pit bike track so i need to make these bikes a little beefier

To start if you're over 5'4" throw some bars , a tall seat and oversized pegs, then lift or at least stiffen suspension F&R and extend swingarm if you're really trying to go balls deep with big bore and porting n'stuff. I recommend fresh tires, gas, and clean air filters most of all!

Sorry for the 'Not Helpful' remark earlier. I would've told myself to f off ? we all have our moments.. and then these moments of clarity lol hope your track is coming along good man. Peace

I am fixing up a 125cc SSR Coolster-esque Pit Bike for a buddy. My number one mod on any bike is top quality tires.

I used IRC Mini-Motocross knobbies with 4mm IRC Xtreme Duty Tubes, dual rim locks on the rear (@ 3pm & 9pm) so he can run low air pressure without pulling the valve stem out and a single rim lock up front.

I balance everything, even a pit bike, and K&L makes mini spoke weights in the 10gram weight range.

This bike is used to run around campsites and he runs it flat-out (however fast it will go) on the dry lake beds, often racing his buddies on other pit bikes.

One major thing i noticed was the phenolic spacer, between carb and intake, was really choked down....probably to make it easier to ride for a beginner.

I ported it to match the carb and intake. This made a HUGE difference in available power and throttle response.

A good spark plug is important too. The 'Torch' plugs are likely Chinese too. NGK DP8EA-9 is a direct replacement for the OEM plug.

All the best...
