Is this a good buy? ktm 200xcw

Recommended Posts

Hey guys so i have been looking for a bike for awhile now and was thinking of getting a beta 200rr but i would have to wait till next winter to be able to afford it and i wont have a bike to ride through summer so was looking and i found this ktm 200 https://www.kijiji.ca/v-dirt-bikes-motocross/calgary/2016-ktm-xcw-200/1461988204?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true and i wanted to know what you guys think of it and since KTM no longer makes the 200. Are parts hard to get and will this bike be a better than a like a KTM 150xcw since it would problem have more bottom end that the 150 and should be the same as the Beta 200rr.

Any info will be most appreciated?

Got a ktm 200 xcw 2012. Its a very nice bike. With 190 hours, Its been fairly reliable, but not problem free. It got pretty good overall and usable power and its easy to manoeuver in tight and technical trail. I still like the bike alot, but feel I could use a bit more power down low and for the more open section.

I paid 5900$ for it with 1.5 hours on it 4 years ago from a dealer. I think you should try to get the price down or look for a 250 with less hours.

May I ask, why do you want a 200 specificly?

btw, part are easy to get so far.

I am coming off of a CRF150F and looking for my first two stroke enduro bike i have been riding a dirt bikes since i was 5 and i have been riding trials bikes for about 3-4 years. I am 14 5'8.5" 120 lbs and my skill level is intermediate/advanced. Been riding the Honda because i didn't have the money to buy a proper bike. But now i do i am looking for a bike that i can ride in tight single track and be able to easily do an trials/enduro cross track. The bikes i am looking at are the KTM 150 xcw, Te 150, Beta 200rr, or ktm 200xcw. But i am now really leaning towards the 150xcw because its lighter than the beta 200rr and the ktm 200xcw. A 250 would be to much for me. I have ridden a couple YZ 125s so i am not completely new to 2 strokes.

That's a not bad price. They are a great bike. My sons on a 2015 200 XCW witch I bought new. He came off of a TTR 125 fairly similar to your Honda. He loves this bike if you take care of it will last you a long time. They are very fun bike there is a huge following on these bikes. They are hard to find for sale

If I was hi I would look for a decent xr200r there really reliable and great running bike with enough power to keep you loving it but it’s also affordable I’ve had mine for 6 or so years and the most I’ve did is just regular maintenance like new oil ever 8-10 hours and new spark plugs it’s a great trail bike and fun in general
