Delkevic Exhaust??

Hey guys how's it going. No need to front here I am a straight up noob lol. I'm in the market for a new exhaust because my stock Drz SM exhaust is looking ratty. I came across  delkevic full exhaust. It doesn't look half bad but again I am a noob. I'll include the link let me know what you guys think. If you're after performance then that pipe is not any better than stock as they advise no rejetting of the carburetor.

even if I do the 3x3 mod? also I think its a tad lighter than stock. I really just want to get this bike on the trails I don't care about going fast.

It is lighter. The 3x3 mod in conjunction with a good jet kit will enable you to get the bike to run correctly,increase throttle response and add a small amount of power. The big restriction in a drz is the small dia. headpipe and the Mikuni CV carb.You can only do so much with those in place.

Not sure if you're on a strict budget but if you're not then definitely get a nicer exhaust because you will also see an increase in power. 

If you are on a budget and just want something that looks half decent, look on eBay for used OEM exhausts, they can be found in good condition around $100. 

Or there's this for a little bit less money than the delkevic.

yeah kinda of on a tight budget i'm still a college student haha and awesome i'll give that a look. I wanted to get a MRD but I can't find them anywhere used and i don't want to wait the 3-6 weeks for shipping. haha

You're better off waiting and saving your money for something worthwhile. If you want to spruce up your stock pipe remove it,sand nice and smooth and then give it several coats of black high temp stove coat.

Its not a bad set up the fit was nice and all the parts came with it for a complete install  I put one on a 2009 S because the old stock header and pipe were being replaced on a budget like a lot of stuff on this bike (Flood under water "Sea water"). But be warned it is LOUD and I mean wake up the dead Loud. as far as more power ? if the sound is an indication of more power than this thing is a rocket ship. LoL

Most typical aftermarket pipes are loud but if the head pipe is not a stepped up larger diameter than stock puny dia.it is not going to make the power to make it worthwhile. MRD Z-Pro, the new Barkers,Yoshimura RS2,TRC/TRS ,older Muzzy's or even a FMF Powerbomb are much better choices.

like loud enough to get attention from the piggy's? I partake in some off roading where are kind is not welcomed lol. I don't want to attract to much attention. You think I should be fine?

what if i did a 3x3 mod with the cheapo exhaust would i see some gain at all ??

You will have attention of all the pigs, cows, birds , ducks and so on. As far as power the 3x3 mod and this set up was nothing to write home about if you want to wake the bike up the FRC carb is the way to go from what most of the people say on here anyway that's my next step.

I too am in college so I know exactly how you feel. Wait around and keep an eye on the Thumpertalk classifieds. I bought two used MRD exhausts off here for $300 each. I've also seen fmf and Yoshi for sale on here before

Wouldn’t that be with any after market exhausts? I just want it to sound more like a dirt bike instep of a go-ped lol

Any aftermarket exhaust will give you that dirt bike sound you're looking for. Some are quieter than others. You can buy a quiet insert for the MRD. From what I've seen, the FMF Q4 is one of the quieter exhausts for our bikes. The MRD is probably the loudest.

Note that their site says the muffler weighs 4.050 #, not the entire system. Doubtful if you're saving much, if any, weight. Doubtful if you're gaining any performance either, if no jetting change is needed as bumtarder stated. It's a lot of $ to only get something that's shinier and noisier, imo.

That’s true. I just wanted to get something because my stock exhaust is rusted.
