How much oil in 300rr

Recommended Posts

There should be a overflow bolt you remove that indicates correct height once oil come out but it should be 750ml total. May overflow at that if there is residual left in the case.

It depends if you want to have it underfilled (the check bolt only ensures there is some oil in the case, not the right level) or if you want to have it blow past the countershaft seal (volumes over 850ml) … so, the sweet spot is somewhere between 800 and 850ml.

let this be a lesson: don't use oil check bolts (on any bike!) again! Pour in 825ml (measured in a Maxima Quick 2 Mix bottle) and live happily ever after again. :prof:

Tell ya what. You know how you turn the bike on, stand there and have it warm up to change engine oil in a four stroke?

well I hate changing tranny oil. You really have to ride it for a bit to heat up that oil to get it all out when changing it.

thats why I used the check bolt. Not sure if all the old oil got out and I don’t wanna over fill.

anyways...

Top 3 things that suck about Beta`s

1) Oil injection.........lol

2) The kick Stands

3)The transmission oil overflow screw.

My overflow screw stripped out when removing it on the first oil change. Dealer would not fix it and it cost me 50$ to repair it with a helicoil kit that i probably wont ever use again. Come to find out the dealers do not even use that screw. Could have warned me about that when picking up the bike.

I drain all my motors/transmissions when cold. It's fine. Most gets out - not all. Whatever - but leave the check bolt alone. ?

Indeed.

Additionally, there is seldom any advantage to over-filling. In fact, systems that use slingers to distribute oil may not function if the slinger is submerged.
