My experience with zip ty racing

Last winter I ordered one of their zipty exclusive YZ250 fuel tanks for my yz250x

 

I waited 3 weeks it never showed up so i decided to contact them.

 

I called and emailed them every day for the next two weeks and could not get anyone on the phone and I got no response by email. There was nothing on the website about them being out of the office and even though I don't have a Facebook page I looked at their Facebook and there was nothing on their page about them being away or on vacation.

 

Finally on week 5 they answered the phone and told me they had been away at the races for the last 2 weeks, I explained to them that they really should have put something up on the website to let people know because I thought maybe they had gone out of business or something and I was ready to contact PayPal for a refund.They told me they had no record of my order so i forwarded them the paypal email receipt and they confirmed my order is now placed and they will ship my tank out tomorrow.

 

Week 6 no tank no tracking number yet, so i called and they told me again we have no record of your order and i go through the run around again and they say they will ship it out tomorrow.

 

 

Week 7 tank recieved all is good.

 

 

 

Fast forward 10 months and even though I had a terrible experience with my last order I did really like the fuel tank so i went ahead and I ordered another zip ty yz250 fuel tank for another bike on September 27th.

 

I wait 3 weeks and no tank, so i call and they tell me the only record they have of me ordering a fuel tank was the one I ordered almost a year ago. I explain to them that i placed the order 3 weeks ago I have the confirmation email from PayPal showing that I ordered another tank on September 27 so they asked if I can forward them that information which I do immediately, I also explained to the woman on the phone that I was not happy with the way my previous order had been handled and that it took almost 2 months to receive the last fuel tank I ordered from them and she said that their website made a mistake and that the money was sent to the wrong paypal address and that they need to contact PayPal and get iy sorted out before they can ship me my tank, They tell me they will call me back later today after they get it sorted out.nobody calls me back that day.

 

So the next day I call zip ty and I'm told that she is on the phone with PayPal right now and she will call me when she gets off the phone. Nobody calls me back that day.

 

So the next day I call them and again I am told that they will call me back today. Nobody calls me back.

 

So the next day when I call zip ty because again nobody called me back I am told they have gotten it all straightened out with PayPal and my order is all set and that now zip ty is going to order the tank from IMS then once they get it in 1-2 days they will send it to me. 

 

I wait about a week and call tip ty, they tell me they just received my tank and they will ship it out tomorrow.

 

I wait about a week and no tank no tracking number so i call zip ty. They told me they forgot to order my tank and they will order it today and ship it out in 1-2 days once they get it. (how can you forget to order it I was told last week you already had it?)

 

 

Another week and no tank no tracking number so i call again,they tell me they ordered my tank and when they got it in and they accidentally shipped it to the wrong customer and that they have been waiting for that customer to ship the tank back to them and then they will ship it to me, i tell them its been long enough and i dont want to wait so they say they will order another tank from IMS and they should have it in one or two days and then I will ship it out to me.

 

 

A couple of days later I get an email from their website saying my order has been placed and that they will send me a tracking number once it is shipped.

 

On november 8th exactly 6 weeks after placing my order on the website and many phone calls/emails finally a tracking number saying the tank has shipped. 

 

November 14 tank delivered

There might a bit of flame there, but like he said, thats one hell of a memory...... As another person mentioned too...... You should have gone IMS direct! Just saying..... No flaming...... I have, in the past ordered from Zipy Ti, for some bits. Not a problem but saying that...... Things change and a lot of vendors I have used in the past.... Well are no longer doing business.

I agree with being a little upset. I have always tried to support those who are in our sport. I also try to give a second chance. That would leave a bad taste . Shame Zip Ty doesn't reply. At least maybe to the OP. ??? LOL a set of free decals would go a long way.

I have never had a issue with Zipty racing. Multiple carburetors have been shipped to them for mods worked on and returned that week or the next. It could be something that is not too popular and has to be made up. ??‍♂️

If their website said 6 to 8 week lead time I would have been perfectly fine with it, if that's what it is just be upfront about it

There probably better at working hands on than their website skills. There not that big of a company. The hold up was likely IMS so buying direct may not help.

IMS was definitely not the problem. they admitted that they kept making mistakes over and over and never once blamed IMS for the delay they actually said IMS was close by and it only should take them a day or two to get the tank, the woman I spoke with on the phone was very pleasant and they actually seem like good people maybe it was just bad luck but to have it happen to me twice was when I thought I had to say something.

Similar story kinda. 1 year ago on Black friday bought a dishwasher. Installed it no worky. Repair guy comes a week later. Motor is no good. 3 months to get a new one cause the model is to new and all the parts are still in china. No problem, I take it back, exchanged it. 2nd one no worky. Leaking pump. 3rd one, have to go to the another store to pick one up bring it home and guess what..NO WORKY! 4th one good to go.

That is my understanding as well.  I recollect they order them for IMS in runs so if they run out they order a bunch and it may take awhile.  That tank is sweet and worth the wait but what your describing is multiple in-competencies .  I have had nothing but good experiences with them.  In my own work experience it seems every once in a while I get a user with multiple weird things happen just to them.  A comedy of errors, malfunctions, just weirdness.  Maybe your just the one unlucky one.  lol
