Getting ready to order some CRF plastics (front and rear fender) for my 2003 XR650L. I know i have to cut the fenders and make them work, but what im wondering is what year fenders should i order? Thanks in advance ..

My back is a Cycra for an '08 CRF450R , but any year will work. The CRF250R rear tends to be narrow.  Polisport has some REALLY nice front fenders , I've got their SM Line front. Acerbis's red tends to be to light.

Okay, Thanks Joe, going to order that. Relocating my battery as well. What year xr600 left side cover fits the 2003 xr650?

The 4Strokes article uses an early CRF fender , the measurements don't apply.  Take your time and it'll come out nice. You can always trim more plastic , but you can't put it back once you cut it. Remember to have the fender continue the lines of the seat or it will look REALLY stupid. Droopy is doofy.    ?

My 92 XR600R with 07 CRF450R fenders.

I cut the XR600 side plates with a jig saw, freehand. I just kind of eyeballed the curve of the rear tire and drew a line. Then i hummed and hawed and after about 20 seconds of that, decided WTF, give er !  And then smoothed out the burrs and painted them.  Havent touched them since.

I know ... that curve is nowheres near the same as the tire. But when im on it, all geared up, its just about perfect!

I see that a company by the name of Maier makes plastics for the bike as well. They look pretty good IMO.

 I did not mean to derail this thread. any year CRF will work.  I suggest a CRF 125/230 front fender because it has the groove for the wire harness.  I am cheap so all my plastic is UFO it is actually very good for the price

All you have to do is pull out a fork tube and move the wiring harness OVER the bottom triple clamp and you can use ANY fender. Polisport has some of the nicest I've seen.
