2017 WR250F What's the best upgrades?

Recommended Posts

I have been spoiled with my hydro on the Husky, and Beta. My yz 2 smoker was fine before the Rekluse. I'm sure I'll love it.

I agree.  It really spoils you. I get on a buddy's bike and I can't believe they deal with their clutch in the technical stuff.

Picked her up today, and she’s mine. One little scoot around my hood and I’m going to love this little girl. Already talked about here, but even the guys told me a few things at the “place” ehum, that they have done to theirs!!! Going to get out and ride Tuesday around the local OHV area for break in loops.

How did you find the throttle?

Didn’t give it all yet, but feeling it as it was off and sitting, VERY short LOL. Going to remove some things after break in.

Reminds me of my 08 TE450 when I got it. All choked down for emission tests.

I have a 2016 WR250F.

Buy the Yamaha GYTR Competition ECU Kit and the GYTR Power Programmer as they will give you everything you need to uncork the bike and ride it as it was intended.

From there, it's personal preference.

On my WR I haven't so much as added a slip-on muffler, but went with the tires I prefer and went down one spring rate on the fork and shock springs as I weigh 150 pounds.

Great bike, and definitely one of the best dirt bikes I've owned.

Excellent suspension, stability over rough ground, and power characteristics.

If it hasn't been suggested yet the 18 rear fender, 18 electrics cover and an IMS 3 gal tank.

What’s the deal on this, better coverage of the relay bank?

So anyway, got her out for a break in. Damn she was tight in the first hour. After that she became a little more responsive but that throttle stop has to go for sure. Going to get another hour on her and pull some things off and shorten the screw so I can get the rest of the throttle.

If the pee shooter is removed, it will probably be louder than a FMF slip on with a sparky. I gotta have a sparky for my riding location, so we shall see what’s best.

Looking through the diagrams I only found this part for possible electrical cover. Have not looked at my 17 to see if it’s there.

looks like it’s just the lower side panel.

Cant find any electrical cover in the fiche.

Not sure how to share a post but in the wr400/426/450 forum look up 2018 wr450 electrics cover all there

Does that swap over to the 250’s?

I would need a confirmation to pull the trigger.
