Mine doesn't. Power substantially falls off in cold weather.

So what is the best light weight battery? I don't ride a lot in cold, but I sure don't want to deal with that when i do. My factory battery seemed to be getting weakwhich is why I made the switch.

I bought a Tusk lithium recently to replace my lead battery in my KTM. Cost $70.  Light as a feather too.  Starting power definitely increased when it's 50-70 degrees.  Below 40 degrees it suddenly takes about 8-10 start cycles of a couple seconds each to get the battery warm and strong.  Then it fires up no problem from that point on.  The more you use the Les lithium batteries the stronger they get.  Recharge time is super quick too.

Do the Shorai batteries still catch on fire ?

Melted cases is usually what happened.  We used to buy them from Battery's Plus Bulbs and they quit carrying them because of the return rate. They worked with another supplier to make a "safe" case, they now sell under their own brand.   Anti Gravity used to use the best quality lithium cells, Japan vs. China.  My advice with lithium is buy the best warranty and save all your paperwork.
