2005 kx250 build thread....

well, bought 2 basket case 05's kx250's...with what was salvageable, I put one bike totally together....just sold it yesterday, so now the focus is on the 05 that came with a cert of origin...touched up the frame although the silver that was suggested is alittle off....just got the susp back from factory connection, which about destroyed my budget!...new crank/bearings, wiesco piston, and just waiting for the cylinder to come back from forward motion, just porting.

 

had to order new wheels, all new bearings, new radiators, pretty much new everything except the frame, and bottom end...everything has been ordered....so ill update as it gets put together. really wanted to use the original hubs as they cleaned up awesome and have new bearings/seals, but by the time im done buying rims/spokes, laceing them myself, but having them trued, it almost doesn't save much money then buying whole new tusk wheels....so maybe later down the line, ill build the oem hubs with new wheels...

I liked the seat cover in the first pics more with the green on top

wheels finally came in...got the tires on, go to put the front rotor on which was oversize and one of the few redeeming qualities from the parts lot, and it doesn't fit....go back and do some investigating on tusk wheels...even bolted up to the forks fine.

 

so to partszilla I go....the hubs for the kx250 are for only the kx250's and 125's....look at the fitment for the tusk hubs and they are for kx's and kxf's....so im assuming I need a 250f/450f rotor....damnit!

 

and im still waiting for all the missing stuff from RM.....this might be my last build....I hope I like this kx!!!

that's weird, rmatv has never messed up my orders, other than sending me two oil drain tubs for the price of one

I've been using them for years. Not sure what's with the bum streak I have going with them

Uh, not to be rude but that rear brake line looks horribly wrong. That looks like it will catch the rear tire mate.

I zipped tied it down already. I bought aftermarket braided lines and the ends are different than stock. I might try pointing it up. Thanks
