Best whip flag set up for dunes. Check out this HRF set up.

Recommended Posts

I'm getting our bikes set up for a Pismo dunes ride. Mine a 07 CRF 450R, son 1 08 CRF 150R, son 2 05 YZ 125. We've never ridden the dunes.

I'm looking at this HRF flag mount and wanted to get some experienced input from you that have ridden the dunes. This set up seams the most practical from what Ive seen, keeping the flag mount as far back as you can get it makes the most sense to me. BUT I wonder IF it would ever be a problem when really far back in ur seat??? Something I don't want as a limitation.

This version VS the swing arm set up is what I'm comparing and questions. I see a lot of bikes set up with the swing arm set up, makes me wonder WHY. Even Reiner and his crew uses the swing arm mounts?? This set up just seams like its asking for trouble and just dosed t seam to make a lot of sense to me. But seams very popular.

I think the HRF are really nice but over priced for wha it is. I'm thinking about making my own and even putting the flag mount even a bit farther back. Looks like these are 1/2 tube, I will go with 3/4.

The 5/16 flag poles seam to make more sence to me as well. Any input on 1/4 VS 5/16 Di poles.

Here is the Honda one.

Here is the ones for the YZ & 150 they don't make the single post version for theses bikes. Bit IF I make them I will do the single post version for my kids bikes.
