Best way to clean radiators

Rebuilding an 2004 ktm and the radiators are brown and dingy between the metal fins. Is there anything that helps bring back the metal shines. Should I soak them in a large bucket with soap or a certain cleaner. What would be the best to bring them back to life. Thanks

Yup, bucket with PineSol. Soak over night.

You may not get them shiny but you will get the 'coating of age' off.

Get some coil cleaner for ac units spray it on let it set for the recommended time and hose off. Don't let to sit too long though it will eat the fins up. Works great on truck radiators they come out almost like new.

You can also spray mother's mag wash on it, but it has the same effect as the coil cleaner. It eventually eats through the metal. So, spray it on, let it sit for 2 minutes then hit with a brush and spray it off.

Just kidding, If you use a brush use a soft one and be careful. Those fins bend easy.

When you do get them clean, I'd suggest using compressed air to blow the water out of the fins after you wash the bike. Low pressure is better than high pressure.

Put em in the dishwasher. Just don't let the wife catch you.

You should try the non acidic coil cleaners. Good product use, though! I've had some coil cleaner diluted 10:1 and it still starts "chemically" smoking.

K&n air filter cleaner, spray on, soak a bit, rinse, go as new...

Just take them to a radiator shop and have them hot-tank them. They'll look brand new, and probably won't cost more than $20.
