Fcr39mx ap timing?

Recommended Posts

No, leave it stock as it is, i touched it once and the bike did not run right, when someone who just got a brand new one from TT told me how many turns out theirs was, i then did the same and its spot on, no hesitation and no delay, you twist and it moves.

Sweet thank you bro!

How many turns is that, Ron?

There is not 'number of turns' from a point to set the AP. It is done after the slide is initialized to the throttle shaft. Idle adjuster backed out, a 0.8mm drill bit/blank inserted into the carb bore and the timing screw set to just barely touch the arm. Because of the difficulty many have in completing this, we do not recommend you 'adjust it'. If you want to tweak it, keep EXCELLENT notes about which direction and how much you turned it. If you tweak it, do so in 1/4 of a turn increments. Ride the bike for a while, see if it is honestly better or worse. Tweak it again, retest. You are not going to get more power, just better response. Note:Do not simply nail the throttle from idle and expect that bog to go away. It will not. The AP and the rest of the bike's performance should be confirmed during normal usage.

Does adjusting it so that the squirt just barely misses the slide yield results close to that? Thanks William.

Sort of but it is as accurate as peeing on a bee's nest.

Human reaction time is typically about 0.5 second That is what you can expect your accuracy to be. Not 0.0 second. So you can get close visually if you have to. Some would use a video camera that shoots at 30 FPS. Watch the squirt in slow motion on the computer, each frame being 1/30th of a second and adjust. Film, adjust, film, adjust, film, adjust. A day shot. Or you can follow th procedure and do it in ten minutes. But you must follow the procedure EXACTLY. Better still, start with it unmolested. Keep good notes and reset it to 'stock' in five seconds if needed.
