Bike stand without skidplate?

Recommended Posts

Ahh, that is the item I keep meaning to buy and forgetting.  Note to self.

Don't wait until you hear a distinct crack sound of a rock hitting your cases.  I was riding with a guy that happened to in Cali, his bottom cases began seeping oil.  It was such a minor crack he patched it with JB, held as long as he had the bike.  But still, you want the security of the skid plate and the ability to slam rocks, tree trunks, whatever and not worry about it.

I hate slowing down just because I don't have my equipment right.  That sucks.

Yep, I needed one on Monday.  I was on this trail behind my house, came to a hill that was made up of powdery dirt, got about 6 feet from the top and the rear dug in and pretty soon the bike was sitting on the frame with the rear wheel dug in to the axle.  Managed to power up it finally, but a skid plate would have been nice for sliding and potential case damage.
