CR450 does not "smoke" the 426

Well, me and my buddy went to VP Cycleranch today. Him on his new 450 and me on his old 2k 426. We not only raced around the track, but we pulled some killer starts on a tacky grassed area with mucho traction. Results? On the starts, the RIDER with the best launch or jump out of the gate won every time. We both beat each other, it came down to only this... rider skill!!! One time we both launched perfectly and we ran neck and neck all the way through 5th gear.

On track, the 450 is a typical Honda, razor sharp steering and neutral in the air. Power is definitely fast, but smoother than the Yammie 426. I would almost say on a VERY tacky track, the kind that bogs motors down a bit, the 426 *might* be a bit better, because the killer midrange hit snaps alot harder than the Honda. Conversely, on a slicker track, I think the 450 would be a bit faster.

For me, being a big rider of 6'4" and 240lbs, I liked the Yamaha better, since I need a large hit to get my fat ass moving!

All of the people that say the 450 smokes the 426 are just talking out of the ass, or were not comparing apples to apples.

Both bikes make killer power, both bikes have decent suspension, now if Yamaha would lose 13lbs and get a CR front brake....LOL.

HELP!! i'm still covered in Raptor dung errr Rooost from the track.... once i get clean i will post my little comparison... both are nice bikes thou.... & damn after a 4 yr layoff the raptor might have gained some lbs but he still hauls the mail with the best of them
