Yes. Exact same cases. One note about this engine. Make sure you set the cam timing as per the manual with crank positioned at the timing marks and not at TDC. The cam timing marks are actually at 23 degrees ATDC.

I asked the local shop and they said only 10-11 will work. 12 are different. I just dont want to buy a 11 and have it not work.

Your local shop needs a new parts guy. Yes, the crankcase has a different part number for '12 than it used to (33D-15100-09-00), but that number is also currently listed for the '10-'11 models as a revision, so they fit. Some of the bolts that hold the cases together may be different lengths, however.
