1999 YZ400F gas cap problem

2 posts in this topic

Hey I did a little research and think I found an answer, I just want to verify.

I have a mostly stock bike, with one of those short aftermarket vent caps on the gas cap. Lately when I ride, gas spews out the vent cap, non stop. I could have 1/4 tank of gas and it still spews out. When I come to a stop, bike dies. But then it starts and idles perfectly afterwards.

Is my stock gas cap the problem, or the shorty vent tube with a "check valve"?

Thanks

Well the one way valve on your vent hose isnt working too well, just go get normal gas cap vent hose and problem solved
