426 carb problems

2 posts in this topic

I have a 2000 426f and the float is stuck open. when i turn the gas on, fuel pours out of the drain tube. i started it and gave it some gas but the float won't close. Any ideas before I have to tear down the carb?

The float's stuck, simple as that. You will find that either there's a varnish deposit on the hinge pin, something stuck in/on the needle or seat keeping it from sealing, or that the needle face itself is worn, cracked, or otherwise damaged. If the bike's been sitting a while, it would be wise to carefully check the jets as well, particularly the pilot.
