Okay Dave, I agree with most of what you said. Semi (truck) drivers rarely use the clutch on their big machines, but it only takes one mistake to blow a tranny. The time savings at my level is insignificant and the dollar savings is VERY significant. If my tranny blows, I'm done. I'll take the slower lap times. BTW this topic is why I rarely let others ride my machine. People tend to be very opinionated about the subject and nothing anyone says will change their mind about how they are going to ride a bike. It does make interesting conversation though. :-)
