XR250 with electric starter.

FYI: For anyone who likes or needs an XR250 with electric starter (as I do, I ride a 1996 XR250 Baja):

Honda Italy added a XR250 R with electric starter to its lineup in 2003.

I'm real curious how much market share Honda's lost to Yamaha,KTM,Kawazuki in the U.S. by not making the e-start availble. My dealer told me that the U.S. is consistantly offered less model variety than in Europe and Japan :).

What a second! That's the bike I've been wanting to buy and Honda doesn't want to bring it into the US??!!!! I want a 250cc air cooled engine with modern suspension components and decent chassis. Give me that bike Honda, or else!!! :)

I might buy the CRF250X to get the elec. starter. I bet the rest of the world will get a street version. :)

I find it ironic that people are so loyal to Honda while Honda ignores their desires. I guess Honda knows more than we do about what we want.

The bike looks good other than the funky fake radiator covers on the fuel tank. BUT because Honda refused to make what we want I had to go Orange. I will not ride an aluminum framed bike and want a aircooled motor. I had hoped that Honda would have made a XR600 with a 4 speed ( I never used 4th ) and put in a XR400 type chassis. I had no complaints with the XR600 suspension. I was wondering what they were thinking when they build the XR650 ????????

I love the XR250s also. Light weight and nimble.

Considering going orange too (for an addition, not replacement to my XR250).

Vibration and Impacts. I also believe all perimeter frames are too rigid but the Aluminum ones are horrible. The also fatigue quickly. They replace RC's every event. Chromemoly is best material for frames.

Also did you guys see the xr400 right under the xr440? Thats the way to go. Get a xr400 or a xr440 stock. Pretty sweet.

You are right, a 250 is not hard to kick compared with a 400. It's having to kick it in an awkward place, especially if it's flooded that is annoying. I have two 250s, one with e-start (DR-Z250) and one without (XR250). It is nice to just push that button after dumping it on a hill.
