Pro-Tec Mach 1 worth it?

Looking to put a better exhaust pipe or whole exhaust system on my '03 WR450 and came across this one

Pro-Tec Mach 1

Haven't been able to find anything about it on the web yet, just wondering if anyone had experience with it or heard anything about it. It seems a bit pricey but the gains look decent.

I'm no expert but I find it hard to believe any aftermarket exhaust will give you 50% increase in HP at 9000 rpm or any rpm for that matter. I do however like the ANS ( adjustable noise system ) or something like that.

I think their dyno numbers are BS. For one thing, a stock WR450 should make closer to 40hp not 30hp. Check out this test by Dirtrider magazine on the same exhaust only on a YZ450. It only made about 4hp more than stock. Now I know that the WR exhaust is more restrictive than a YZ but 11hp? I doubt it...

Pro Tec does include a spark arrestor and an adjustable quiet block-off plate, but as a race pipe it can ring some ears. On the track this system is meatier down low and offers a robust surge right before the mid. From that point, the mid holds its ground compared to stock but starts to fall off and doesn't pull as well up top. This exhaust is more suitable for really tight courses or riders who don't prefer to ride much past the midrange.

If you check the dyno results for the YF450F on their site, their results are pretty similar to what Dirtrider had as far as totals, so maybe the stock exhaust on the WR does suck that much :)

I read an article before that put the Rear Wheel Horsepower of the WR450F at 33HP so it seems pretty close. The green exhaust kills it. I have the Canadian version too so the baffle is welded :)

I mapped out all the power curves from that Dirtrider article in Excel , the Pro-Tec Mach 1 is 2nd best after 8.5k RPM but poor up until then. The Jardine had the best top end with medium mid range. The DSP Stainless is best through mid but lowest in top end. The Zip-Ty has a unique curve, it's almost flat at 45HP from 7.5k to 10.5k RPM and one of the best through mid-range.
