Oil in coolant? 02 WR426

1 post in this topic

First off do the 426's suffer from the same water pump issues the 450's do? It seems like everyone having the water pump seals go bad either gets milky engine oil or coolant coming out of the weep hole... Anyone heard of oil in the coolant?

After a long ride yesterday my friend asked me why my antifreeze (he noticed it in the overflow tank) was black. Puzzled I poured some out I found it looked like burnt engine oil and smelled like petroleum of some sort. My engine oil has never looked burnt and it has never been low on the dipstick--I change it often. I'm confused.

Any ideas? Thanks,

Andrew
