fixing a yz 125/250 air box into a 98 yz400f

what else need to be changed other then the side cover and the airbox itself?

Unfortunately I don't have the solution for you, but just to satisfy my curiosity may I ask why you would want to do this?

1)well co si heard from a lot of magazine that it helps with the air flow into the airbox. this is due to the design of the 125/250's air box

2)it also gives the bike that "factory look" and it is a cheap way to add some horses!!!

It can be done, a lot of the works guys over here in europe used to run this setup. I would imagine that you need to use the yz 125/250 subframe too.

BUT I THOUGHT THE SUBFRAME ON BOTH THE 250/125 IS SIMILAR TO THE 400??

Obviously this Euro dude works at a plating shop. Most of that fluff doesn't interest me, but I would like more info on the alloy tank, and that plated frame looks nice!

but in that pic the yzf was using the original air box.

what i have in mind is similar to the one in the picture page of yz400/426 of thumpertalk or the one that team cdr boost yamaha is using ->(http://www.dackracing.tv/files/TC_YZ250F.JPG) it is with the standard 125/250 air box.
