what is the red pull knob behind my carb

There is a red pull knob similar to my choke knob right behind the Carb on my wr400.. what exactly is it or what does it do? Please help?

That is the hot start knob. It's kind of the opposite of the choke. If you stall the bike when the engine hot, sometimes they are difficult to restart. When you pull the knob it allows air to bypass the carb and lean the mixture.

just dont do it when someone can see you.....:bonk:

Wow! That's harsh man!:bonk:

Ejection button!

That damn bike is hard to start cold or hot. Do they make an auto decompression for the 400? Btw thanks:)

no they dont but if you can get hold of a 426 exhaust cam, it will go in and that has one.

Wrong, you need a 03 450 exhaust cam for auto decompression.

If its hard to start check your valve clearances.

IN 0.10-0.15

EX 0.20-0.25

Hot Cams makes a replacement cam for the 400/426 that has an automatic compression release.

Thanks guys! Greatly appreciated
